Lincoln Midget Football League History

The Lincoln Midget Football League is celebrating over 60 years of providing an opportunity for Lincoln area youth to learn the fundamentals of football. The League began in 1947, originally having only four teams.

Today, our League has eight teams, each with their own individual sponsor, including: Assurity Life, Elks Lodge, Executive Club, Firefighters, Leon's Foods, Lincoln Police, Runza, and Union Bank.

Throughout our over 60 year history, our League has been committed to providing the absolute best opportunity possible. Our focus is on building young athlete's skills in leadership, sportsmanship, teamwork, as well as athletic ability. Many of our former players have gone on playing football, taking the building blocks acquired through our program on to; high school, college teams such as the University of Nebraska, and even the National Football League.

We invite you and your young athlete to join our League and experience all that we have to offer. Please contact us with any questions you may have, we look forward to another great season in 2009!

Quick Facts about our League

Volunteer Driven:

Our League is almost entirely operated by the generosity of volunteers who donate their time and energy in order to give our players a great experience.

No Coaches, Booster Club staff, Athletic Director, etc. are paid for their services.  Each of these persons have volunteered their time, many of them hundreds of hours each year, to our League.
